I work at the bustling four-way intersection of storytelling, evaluation, editing, and revision, and there I’ve spent the last decade editing some of the biggest, most popular names in self-publishing.
In that time, I’ve helped a number of my clients grow into best-selling authors who’ve sold millions of books while turning curious readers into loyal fans. My clients have signed major television deals and make regular appearances on national and international bestseller lists.
Still, my gift for the written word isn’t confined to the pages of fiction.
In addition to editing best-selling authors on three continents, I’ve also worked as a national investigative reporter, a newspaper editor, and a crisis-control specialist who’s helped shape messaging and outreach for everyone from the US military to universities to some of the best-known corporate brands in the world. My writing has appeared in Esquire, the Associated Press, newspapers from Florida to Las Vegas, official government reports, and even High Times when I covered the drug war in Europe one crazy summer years ago.
A Russian linguist and translator by education and training, I hold two degrees in Russian language and in history, one from Russia’s top university (their version of Harvard and Yale rolled into one). Whether translating for Russian senators who’d traveled to the States to seek economic alliances, covering corruption in Congress and at the Pentagon as an investigative reporter, or editing best-selling thrillers, sci-fi, crime, romance, or literary fiction, I’ve had a lifelong love for telling and sharing stories with people across the world.
In summary, I have either written or edited every kind of tale imaginable. I know what makes for great storytelling, and I know how to get readers to pay attention to yours.
